About Emotion Rooms

Calm spaces for big feelings — and the practical know-how to build them.

Emotion Rooms is a resource for the people who spend their days with children: parents, preschool and elementary teachers, teaching assistants, and therapists. We focus on one thing — the physical spaces and simple routines that help kids notice, name, and manage what they feel.

What we publish

  • Setup guides for calm down corners, sensory rooms, quiet areas, and cozy reading nooks
  • Printable resources — posters, signs, feelings charts, breathing visuals, and checklists
  • Activities and routines that build emotional vocabulary and coping skills

How we work

Our guides draw on established practice in early childhood education, occupational therapy, and social-emotional learning. We favor approaches that are low-cost, low-friction, and realistic for a busy classroom or a small apartment.

We are not a medical provider, and nothing here is a substitute for individualized advice from your pediatrician, a school psychologist, or an occupational therapist. See our Disclaimer for the full picture.

Free, and staying free

The printables library is free for personal and single-classroom use. It's supported by advertising and by affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you buy something we recommend — at no extra cost to you. We only recommend things we'd suggest to a friend. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
